Description What is Granuplant? COMPO Bio Granuplant is a natural volcanic rock (pumice) that, once extracted from the ground, is crushed and sorted by size. This very simple production process requires no high energy consumption (unlike the production of traditional clay granules) and is therefore an extremely environmentally friendly material that results in a CO2 saving of more than 90% compared to the production of expanded clay granules. The most important properties of pumice granules: Ready for use: unlike expanded clay, pumice does not need to be rinsed beforehand. Create ideal growth conditions: the granules store water and nutrients very easily. Have higher structural stability and an extremely long shelf life. They are completely neutral in terms of pH and odor. They are very easy to use, for both beginner and advanced plant enthusiasts. compo image Whether you care for small potted plants or large ornamental plants – COMPO Bio Granuplant meets every challenge thanks to the different granule sizes: Fine granules (2 to 5 mm) are ideal for smaller plants and plants with a sensitive root system, but also as a drainage layer or as a decorative layer in smaller pots. Larger granules (8 to 16 mm) are ideal for larger plants with thicker roots, and also as a drainage layer or decorative layer in large pots. There are special Granuplant variants for orchids and for cacti and succulents: Larger granules (8 to 16 mm) enriched with lava are ideal for planting orchids and create an ideal moisture balance and optimal oxygen supply to the aerial roots of these epiphytic plants. Very fine granules (0,5 to 2 mm) are ideal for planting cacti. This ensures that your former desert dwellers are not exposed to waterlogging. Aesthetic qualities are also very important when creating a decorative layer – here you can decide whether you prefer larger or slightly smaller granules.
